Born in Philadelphia, Reneé has had an interest in art for as long as she can remember. She received a lot of encouragement from both her parents and grandmother to pursue a career in art. She has won several awards from various art shows, including a certificate from the governor of Pennsylvania for her talent. King went on to study at Tyler School of Fine Art with a partial scholarship.
While in college she had the opportunity to work with a variety of mediums. Her paintings and sculptures were displayed in several exhibitions around campus.
Moving ahead as a Graphic Artist in the Marine Corps, she painted murals in the 3 main barracks at Quantico, Virginia. The unit she was assigned to was the Training and Audiovisual Support Center where she did screen printing, portraits with bios, cartoons, cartography and a variety of other graphics. King received a letter of appreciation from the Commandant of the Marine Corps for her artwork.
Since moving to Florida 9 years ago her artistic spark has blossomed. King is renewed in her creativity by the diversified beauty in the variety of tropical flowers, tropical seascapes, and the many Florida beaches she has visited since relocating.
She now spends her time in-studio working with watercolor pencils, oil and acrylic paints and mixed-media artworks. Renee' King creates original paintings in oils and acrylics and custom art by commission. Her work can be seen in and around Florida as she participates in some of the finest art festivals in the state.
